칼 세이건은 미국의 천문학자이자 천체생물학에서 독보적인 업적을 쌓았고, 미국항공우주국(NASA)에서 마리너호·바이킹호·갈릴레오호의 행성탐사계획 연구원으로도 활동했습니다.또한 그는 코스모스, 창백한 푸른 점, 콘택트, 혜성 등의 과학 서적을 출판한 작가이기도 합니다.그의 저서는 출판된 지 수십 년이 지난 지금도 베스트셀러가 될 정도로 사랑받고 있습니다.~
